Learning to Think
Build foundations of reasoning: notice patterns, ask questions, compare ideas, and explain choices.

Reasoning & Judgment Training Platform
ZigZagUp is developing a reasoning and judgment training platform that looks beyond answers to how learners think. Choices, confidence, and explanations help identify gaps in knowledge and reasoning and guide targeted learning and practice. The aim is to help learners think critically, apply what they know, and make informed decisions on their own.
A More Capable Future
Our platform vision
Stronger Reasoning. Better Judgment.

Independent Life
Judgment for real financial decisions.
What it develops
Financial understanding and judgment: weighing goals, constraints, risks, and consequences. Financial knowledge meets real-life decisions.
How learning works
Start with a topic
13 planned chapters covering California’s high-school personal finance topics.
Start with a goal
Connected missions put financial concepts to work through goals, changing circumstances, and decisions with consequences.
Start in either. Move between both.

Where learning applies
Apply financial concepts as goals, constraints, and circumstances change.
Academic Opportunity
Find your words. Own your thinking.
What it develops
Language understanding and reasoning: interpreting meaning, examining evidence, and explaining ideas. Vocabulary, comprehension, inference, and reasoning work together.
How learning works
One connected learning experience.
Choices, confidence, and explanations help distinguish unfamiliar language from gaps in comprehension or reasoning.
Support is designed around that gap. A new challenge then examines understanding without hints or assistance.
Where learning applies
KuEra is designed to develop language understanding that extends beyond any single test. Planned preparation for SAT, ISEE, and other assessments will build on that foundation with test-specific content, question formats, and practice.
Planned language-focused applications include SAT Reading and Writing and ISEE Verbal Reasoning and Reading Comprehension.
How ZigZagUp trains reasoning
An answer alone cannot show how a learner reached it.
IKCJ: from a first idea to a decision the learner can explain.
What do I think?
Begin with an independent choice, confidence rating, and explanation to reveal the learner’s starting point.
What am I missing?
Identify missing concepts and misconceptions, then build understanding through targeted instruction, examples, and practice.
What supports my conclusion?
Examine evidence, compare alternatives, and test assumptions through questions and practice that address reasoning gaps.
Can I decide independently?
Apply learning to a new situation, explain the decision, and assess confidence—without hints.
Revisit and calibrate: Later challenges check what learners retain, what they can apply, and how closely confidence matches performance.
In development. Learning effectiveness has not yet been validated.
From the founder
I am building ZigZagUp because I believe technology should expand our capacity to think, not replace the practice of thinking.
The next frontier of AI isn't just what machines can do. It's what humans can become.
Inna Arbo · Founder & CEO
As AI becomes increasingly capable of generating answers, our ability to question, reason, and exercise judgment matters more than ever.
When computers transformed how we process information, humanity adapted. Now AI is reshaping how we learn, think, and make decisions. This transformation presents an extraordinary opportunity—not just to make technology more intelligent, but to strengthen human intelligence alongside it.
I am building ZigZagUp because I believe technology should expand our capacity to think, not replace the practice of thinking.
Intuition has an essential place in that vision. It gives us a starting point: an idea, an instinct, a question. But intuition alone is not enough. By bringing together intuition, knowledge, and critical thinking, we can develop judgment that is thoughtful, informed, and our own.
We are developing a reasoning and judgment training platform designed to work across different learning contexts. Our first two product concepts—Personal Finance and KuEra—apply the same framework to real-world financial decisions and language understanding. In both, the aim is to make learners’ reasoning visible, provide support that responds to their needs, and return the thinking and decision-making to the learner.
My ambition reaches beyond any one subject. I want to use technology to help people better understand how they think, strengthen their reasoning and judgment, and unlock the full potential of human intelligence.
The next frontier of AI isn't just what machines can do. It's what humans can become.
Our opportunity is not simply to keep pace with increasingly intelligent machines, but to become more capable human thinkers—architects of our own reasoning and judgment.
